by Janet Laird (Author)

Is it really possible to celebrate your so-called "old" age? That is a choice you can make, and with these 79.4 ideas it becomes a little easier. We all know that sooner or later we will die, so don't hide from that fact and pretend it won't happen to you. Instead, enjoy your time on this earth, and thank your God for the opportunity to share humanity with so many searching souls. You can choose ideas from naming your cane, to finding an old friend, to going on a cruise. The ideas range from free to expensive with one theme in common: Do big and little things to make yourself and others happier and healthier. Use your imagination. Have fun tying up the loose ends, and leave your world on a good note. Let your final years be filled with love for your heirs so you will be remembered with a smile.

Author Biography

This is Janet Laird's second book on enjoying the life you have been given. Her first book, "Surviving Widowhood with Maggie Montclair and Friends," was written especially for widows but also was read by widowers who later wrote the author to ask her to write a book directed toward them. They said they were just as lost as widows. As every woman knows, it is often difficult to see situations from a man's point of view, thus 79.4 Ways to Celebrate Your Old Age became a reality. These suggestions are for all smart and savvy seniors, male or female, from age 55 years and beyond. Janet was born and raised in Oelwein, Iowa, and is a graduate of Upper Iowa University. She currently lives in Omaha, Nebraska, and still travels as much as possible with her family and her Red Hat Society chapter, "The Dingbats in Red Hats." Janet is working on a children's book and also collaborating with several authors and illustrators on a special edition storybook for families. As we age, and we all do, it is time to take stock and prepare for the inevitable. That doesn't mean we can't go out with flair. Determine what you want your legacy to be, and make it happen! Live while you still can!
