by Jackson T. Redmon (Author)

A Culture of Courage spans three decades in the life of a young Sioux boy as he grows to manhood during the turbulent times of 19th century Montana. From the simple years of the 1840's through the complicated Indian wars of the 1870's, his faith and courage remain undaunted. As the world around him seems to fall apart, he is forced to make life-changing decisions for which there are no good choices. The struggle culminates at the Battle of the Little Bighorn.

"Redmon writes with a sense of place for the Rocky Mountain West, a sense of affection for the people of his story, and a sense of wisdom drawn from his own life experiences. Readers young and old will find many reasons to appreciate this story." - Michael Punke, Author of New York Times #1 Bestseller, The Revenant

"With empathy, Redmon weaves the details of Plains Indians' life and customs throughout the adventures of Knows No Fear, enabling the reader to learn and appreciate the Native American's vanishing world as seen from their perspective. My late husband Harvey Rattey, a descendant of the M tis, would have approved of the authenticity of the story. A Culture of Courage would be an excellent read for students studying the history of Montana's Native Americans and will appeal to young people and adults as well. It is amazing " - Pamela Harr-Rattey; Artist, sculptor, writer, and author of Deeper Than Memory
