Let's be real-customers suck. Being sandwiched between needy customers and incompetent leadership at a greedy corporation sets an impossible expectation. It's Tony's job to "reset the customer experience" with no tools other than his customer-oriented attitude and expression of the company's hip and trendy culture. Ha ha. Right. Tony knows his wife might not make it through this pregnancy. She's on bedrest due to a mass in the womb and odds are it's cancerous. Every payday when bills outweigh their income, he's forced to choose between packing in hours at Pizza Corp or spending what could be the last few months with his wife... And that's where he found himself-staring into the customers' eyes, one after another, watching them complain about a five-minute delay on a pepperoni pizza, and Tony had to stop and wonder... is any of this worth it?

Nick Powers is a husband and father. He's been writing as a hobby since he wasfourteen years oldandfinishedhis first novel while he was still in grade school but decided against publishing it. Hehas had numerous jobs in the customer service industry, including management positions for fast food and retail. As the Pizza Burns is his first published novel.
