Alberto Lasa Zulueta es profesor universitario y psiquiatra. Participa también en diferentes proyectos relacionados con la psiquiatría infantil y dirigió un servicio público ambulatorio en esta materia en Vizcaya. Ha sido cofundador y presidente de la Sociedad Española de Psiquiatría y Psicoterapia del Niño y del Adolescente y de la Asociación Altxa para la promoción de la salud en este rango de edad. Forma parte del Consejo Directivo de la Asociación Europea de Psicopatología de Niños y Adolescentes y fue vicepresidente de la Sociedad Internacional de Psiquiatría Adolescente.
