Author Biography

Kim Tillyer is a specialist in Textiles and Surface Design studied at Cleveland College of Art and Design (CCAD) / The Northern School of Art and began to explore print techniques that could be applied both to paper and fabric without the need for expensive specialist equipment. Kim's use of the cyanotype process combines plants and found objects, with hand drawn and photographic elements, to create etherial images on paper and fabric. The addition of embroidered detail is a nod to her textile training and interpretations of "stitch" - to create, mend, secure and embellish.

Kim has a sketchbook in The Sketchbook Project, based in Brooklyn NY. Her sketchbook is mostly cyanotype images using the processes found in the book.

Kim lives in the Lake District in the UK and is a member of Cumbria Printmakers and has also exhibited her work widely throughout the UK.
