Burden of Proof by Mandy H is written in the "Screenplay" style of writing. PLOT: Three anthologies (short stories) which connect at the midpoint. 1ST ANTHOLOGY- THE WIDOWS REVENGE: Ajju a gangster, is brutally murdered by his rival gang. The rival gang is looking to end Ajju's legacy by killing his young son. Seething with an icy rage, Ajju's widowed wife seeks revenge.2ND ANTHOLOGY- THE PAINTING THIEF: A painting "The Sleeping Beauty" is auctioned at an art gallery for an unheard price, a thief who calls himself a lover of art, using a clever ruse, he decides to steal this painting, thus begins a nail biting heist. 3rd ANTHOLOGY- THE EXTORTION: Sahu, a rich owner of a chain of hotels is being targeted by a dreaded extortionist "The Hyena". Towards the end of this anthology there is a chase between the extortionist (Hyena) and the police, the hyena takes refuge in a mansion. The police too enter the mansion. The characters present in the mansion reveal how the three anthologies (short stories) are inter connected, this is the midpoint of this novella and from here on, the story proceeds in a single stream leading to a riveting third act.
