These beautifully written short pieces are a good resource for students to work on their techniques and musical interpretations. Pedal markings and fingering are provided/suggested by the editor, tempo markings are kept from the original version. It's suitable for intermediate to early advanced harpists.

Johann Friedrich Burgmuller (1806-1874), born in Regensberg, Germany to a musical family. He moved to Paris in 1832, and won a considerable reputation as a composer and a piano teacher. Many of his Etudes have continued to provide a basis for piano education. Among which, 25 Etudes faciles et progressives, Op.100 has become a prominent collections. With many interesting, beautiful and yet approachable musical/technical challenges on each piece, Opus 100 is well loved by teachers and students.

About the editor:
Born and raised in Malaysia, Dr. Kaffee Peck studied at Oklahoma City University and obtained her undergraduate degree in Piano Performance. She then moved to California and graduated from The University of Southern California with a Doctorate degree in Harp Performance, focused in Music Theory and Early Music.

In addition to the harp, Kaffee has extensive knowledge in piano and classical guitar. She was a soloist with the Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra playing Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blues for a grand celebration of the King's birthday; she taught classical guitar for many years before deciding to concentrate in harp. As a freelance harpist living in Orange County California, Kaffee teaches individual lessons, collaborates with music ensembles, and writes and arranges music.
