About Ruth Schimel, Ph.D. Career & Life Management Consultant How I Made My Way Forward: I have been a diplomat, management consultant, and professor. These days my practice includes four related professions: 1. career and life management consultant 2. non-fiction writer on professional and personal development 3. founder/manager of a small, nontraditional foundation to promote innovation and collaboration in the DC area 4. speaker, facilitator, and trainer So now I have several concurrent careers that all relate to and complement one another. All of my efforts bridge and integrate fields and disciplines in service to human development. As a student who wanted to enjoy school as well as pay for it over time, I devoted almost two decades to earning two advanced degrees (George Washington and Cornell Universities) while working.
