by George Brandsberg (Author)

Norwegian Immigrants Rolf and Torval Hauge struggled for ten years to gain financial success on the plains of South Dakota. Their first big break came in 1907 when Will and Frank Malcolm invited them to join their cattle company east of Belle Fourche. The new partners never dreamed this chance would bring with it a baffling series of attacks aimed at putting their company out of business. Included were the theft of horses, the wanton killing of six prime steers ready for market, breeching an irrigation canal to flood ranch headquarters, the murder of the ranch cook and the unexplained death of a troublesome neighbor.
