Phyllis Holt Lanesey lives in Holland, Michigan near her five children, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. These reflections cover a life from the 'Horse and Buggy Days' to the technological era of today. Teaching was not only her profession but 31 years in the classroom gave her joy. From a one room school with a $225 monthly salary to fighting for union rights and a voice in the education of children, she was always willing to change and adapt. Creative expression and hands on learning kept her ever aware of the desperate need to help educate and develop youngsters who can learn, think and manage their own lives. Born in the depression of the thirties, she was a country girl but time and circumstances took her to experiences and adventures that definitely left her a city girl.
