Oral cancer is a major problem in India and accounts for 50% -70% of all cancers diagnosed as compared to 2-3% in UK and USA, it is due to certain personal habits of our population, like tobacco chewing and smoking. Oral exfoliative cytology seems to offer a good method of screening of the population with suspicious lesions of oral premalignant and malignant conditions.
