Those with an interest in the history and development of the pastimes and sports of the British, cannot fail to be aware of falconry. At one time considered a clear indicator of social status, a changing context so nearly consigned the sport to the past. Whilst declining in popularity during the 17th & 18th Centuries the sport was to experience an organisational shift that would help to ensure its survival.
