About the Author

Jerry Hein is the author of several books of limericks, and this is his first children's book written in December of 1972.

For much of his life, Jerry has been help- ing young people gain a better understand- ing of who they are and what their dreams can be. Jerry has been a youth counselor, college instructor, a reading tutor for first grade children, and most recently a high school science guest lecturer.

Jerry had many achievements as a creative mind in the paper industry. He won several awards and has his name on patents related to innovations in the area of carbonless copy paper technology, and spent several years teaching chemistry of wine and paper coating technology to high school students. Jerry is an accomplished wine-

maker, and his wine recently won third place ribbons at the Wisconsin State Fair.

Jerry grew up in Appleton and during his career as a paper coating chemist and consultant traveled worldwide to 25 countries and 4 continents. He currently re- sides in Wisconsin with his wife of 64 years. They have three sons and one daughter, and he especially enjoys spending time with his two grandsons. He enjoys keeping busy and can often be found tending to his garden and sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and neighbors.
