Body language is the first language of horses, so it makes sense for us to learn the natural body language of horses. Because horses already know these things, this book is about training handlers rather than training horses. Learning and using the Universal Horse Language exercises is a superb way to set 'dates' with a horse. Since all horses 'speak' the same language, we have a way of communicating with any horse. We can use it to begin a new relationship or strengthen an existing one. Once we learn it, we will never forget it. Author Biography

Hertha James began her career as a zoologist working in zoos and as an animal handler on film sets. She then went on to teach high school Science and Biology for 23 years. She has a lifelong interest in animal behavior, especially horses. Horses have always been a big part of her life. She enjoys Horse Agility competitions and was twice a gold medal winner in the World Equine Clicker Games. Hertha has written a fiction series featuring horses. Her present focus is to help clarify the concepts of good horse-keeping by writing extensive teaching and learning resources. They contain links to YouTube clips she makes herself. The clips help explain the methodology involved with using positive reinforcement to expand a person's horsemanship. Her books and video clips illustrate the fun that can be had by playing with our horses, ponies, donkeys and mules on the ground, using clicker training to communicate.
