Silence reigned as I nervously followed them into a room, keeping my eyes down since I could sense my soulmate. A few moments later, a set of heavy footsteps began to approach me. A couple of the others inhaled in shock.
One of the earlier voices murmured, "You've got to be kidding me..."
I stopped where I was and shifted my weight uneasily at that comment. My presence hadn't surprised them. They were shocked by the identity of whoever was walking toward me. It made me very nervous, to say the least.
