He devotes much work to environmental issues, was interviewed by HBO Real Sports in 2008, has hosted numerous radio shows dealing with all aspects of health, was twice awarded the NAMI Exemplary Psychiatrist Award, is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and held and still holds various positions with local and state psychiatric and medical associations.
