Dick Bruna was an award-winning graphic designer, artist, and illustrator who created Miffy in 1955. He published more than 120 children's picture books during his lifetime and was awarded the Max Velthuijs Prize in 2016, a lifetime achievement award for Dutch children's book illustrators. He passed away in 2017.
