There's a new group of human vampire hunters-and they're unusually effective. Samuel's boss suspects an alien has infiltrated their ranks. There's no other way to explain the group's success. Humans can't kill vampires-it just isn't right.

Samuel goes undercover, joining the hunters as they kill vamps, but before he can expose the alien, the group realizes there is a traitor in their midst. As the investigation continues, Samuel must keep the hunters' attention focused on gangs of ferals and Evil Ones-and off himself.

When the truth is finally uncovered, the fight gets bloody. Winning this one will take everything Samuel's got.

Author Biography

James T. Carpenter is the author of two other Samuel the Vampire novels, A Limitless Policy and Why I Shouldn't Work with a Werewolf, as well as the novel Hanged for the Few.

He holds a BA in Russian area studies from Knox College and works as a senior procedure analyst for a regional insurance company. Carpenter's main hobby is travel, and over the last few years, he has made trips to Sicily, New Zealand, Argentina, and Chile.
