This is the true story of lost love between a mother and daughter. In 1925, a rural Kansas teenage girl found herself in the "family way" and unmarried. She was sent to The Willows Maternity Sanitarium, a home for unwed mothers where her baby girl was born on Valentine's Day. She was devastated to be forced to give up her baby for adoption and had to promise to never look for her little girl. Though kept a secret, she never forgot and always hoped her daughter was happy. Adopted and raised by a wonderful Kansas farm family, the daughter always wondered the who and why about her birth mother. After 66 years they are reunited and this is their story.

Author Biography

KelLee Parr was raised on a farm in northeast Kansas and loves his rural roots. He has had many different career opportunities and never been one to pass up a challenge or try something new. He has worked as an ag missionary in Guatemala, county extension ag and 4-H agent in Kansas, third grade teacher for many years, educational consultant, and adjunct professor. He currently helps write science curriculum for elementary students. His first book about his mother and the search for her birth mother has been very rewarding. He now is working on a book about The Willows Maternity Sanitarium in Kansas City where his mother was born. He is seeking information from anyone that has had any connection, be it an adoptee, birth mother, or worker at the facility.
