Noot, the protagonist, is a leafy green plant creature with a fuzzy mustache and beard, he leads and oversees a community of creatures called rootlets that live underground in a beautiful, magical place called Rootaland. His challenge is to teach the rootlets life lessons. Noot makes a gallant effort to present four Cardinal virtues: prudence, justice, fortitude, and temperance. The ultimate goal is for the rootlets to learn "Patience". "In an epic personification, this very important virtue is demonstrated and presented to the rootlets by the creator of the underground world, the Giant Leaf King."
