Author Biography

VIRGINIA WRIGHT is a multi-genre best-selling author and award-winning illustrator of children's books. Wright was a preschool teacher and a licensed childcare worker. In 1981 she sold her first writing to a regional Maine magazine. Wright began writing professionally in 2000, for Lowfat Weekly, a then popular nutrition and recipe website that Wright founded. After getting a great response from the kid's corner on her website, in 2007 she started writing and illustrating children's books. As an illustrator, the cover Wright designed for Steampunk Alice by Dennis Higgins won the AUTHORSdb Gold Award (2014). Wright won the AUTHORSdb Silver Award (2016) in the cover contest from Timothy the Christmas Mouse Coloring Book for children. She spent several years as a beekeeper and used that experience to write a nonfiction book, Buzzzzzzzz What Honeybees Do, ranked #1 Amazon Best Seller in three categories (2016).
