It explores how the church historically has affirmed and preserved the inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible. Moving to the modern period, we explore the battles over inerrancy involving the Evangelical Theological Society as well as cases involving evangelical scholars that have seemingly affirmed inerrancy, but have clearly slid away from inerrancy as indicated by their works. Finally, we map a course as to how orthodoxy can be lost and best preserved.
Norman L. Geisler, Ph.D., is currently Chancellor and Distinguished Professor of Apologetics at Veritas Evangelical Seminary in Santa Ana, CA. He also serves as Distinguished Senior Professor of Theology and Apologetics at Southern Evangelical Seminary, which he co-founded in 1992. He previously served as a professor at some of the finest seminaries in the U.S., including Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Dallas Theological Seminary. He has authored or co-authored over 100 books and hundreds of articles.
