She has since founded Olympia Zen Center in Washington, and served as president of the national Soto Zen Buddhist Association. In 2006, her teacher Niho Tetsumei Roshi named her Abbess of Fukujuji Temple in Nakasho, Japan. She promotes the teaching and poetry of Ryokan, has lectured in the US and abroad, writes articles for various magazines and is a published poet and painter.
