Also a novelist, his books include Borrowed Time, Wrong Man Running, Pardon the Ravens and It Happened at Two in the Morning. Hruska is a co-founder of the New York publishing house, Soho Press and a member of the Actors Studio, Playwrights and Directors Unit.
