Brécha (Bray-sha) Janae Byrd, author of Self Love...L O V E S E L F, is from a small town called Surry County, Virginia. As a child, Brécha loved writing. She wrote poems and songs on a consistent basis. Both of Brécha's parents are educators and at a young age, they knew Brécha had a gift in regards to writing. She started writing Self Love...L O V E S E L F at age 16 and finished after she turned 17. Brécha has one younger brother named Breyden and they are very close. Brécha loves writing, playing basketball, singing, and eating bread (pancakes, french toast, cinnamon rolls, etc). She is well known in Surry County due to her great acts of kindness, volunteerism, and support to not only her peers but the entire county. At her high school, Brécha started a club known as the SCHS Hype Squad, created to promote school spirit and pride throughout the county. Brécha knows that her purpose here on earth is to live to inspire.
