In the Fall of 2016, 32 writers answered the call of the conquest to compete, not with swords, but with words. To write To express And write they did, and express they did via handwritten pages and hand typed pages, via electronic submission, email, and hand delivery to the library. Sometimes not only with words, but with photos and drawings. We added a new division this year for those over 70, so this is a competition that truly spans time and generations. It is also a small town competition with not tons of nameless faces, but our friends and neighbors celebrating their unique vision, fantasies, and experiences. Here all the entries are presented in published form. The rules of the tournament are purposely left loose (see The Rules) and we do change them to meet the needs of the writing public and to allow the most writers to enter in the most ways possible. We did perform minor edits to the writers' works, and for that we beg your indulgence. As no works really go to publication without some form of editing, we felt amending grammatical and spelling errors would be worthwhile and forgiven.
