Author Biography

Gail Burkett writes on ninepassages.com and advocates for women and girls, helping to create ceremonial rituals, Rites of Passage for the important stages of development throughout life's long journey. Gail teaches ritual by example and with simplicity; in participatory rituals, a beautiful force is created with a root for remembering. As a storyteller, she shares her own trials and asks questions to engage her audience in their personal story. This is how folk-psychology works. When women tell stories, the natural pattern of a circle calls in Ancestor energy and honest sharing. Gail's beautiful way of questioning, learned through the Nature connection communities, tracks one's life journey to Elder Initiation, as in Soul Stories. With a PhD woven around Women and Nature Studies, conferred just after her 50th birthday, Gail finds intersections of the feminine on Earth. Gail has been the ceremonial creator of initiation stories for all Nine Passages. With this Soul Stories guidebook, ten women followed the Sun and the Moon from 2012 through 2015, to initiate to themselves into Womanhood and as Elders, to their stage of life. She lives with her playmates, Kenny Olson and Rosie-dog, in Idaho's Panhandle.
