On May 25, 2000, Mike Palmer, an aerospace engineer and a recognized expert in wind-tunnel design, was dressed and ready to meet friends for a round of golf. His wife Brenda was in the kitchen making him a sandwich. Brenda thought he was tweaking an AutoCAD drawing of a new and exciting project-a wind tunnel that would allow recreational users to experience the feel of sky-diving.
