This book gives a comprehensive overview of the different departments of a company through discussion questions, dialogues and vocabulary. My goal is to get my students talking as they learn about the key elements of a firm. The Big Picture gives students an opportunity to talk about their own jobs, but also to learn about what their co-workers do in other areas.Each chapter has two different vocabulary sections, because one thing I have heard numerous times in my job is that my students feel like they lack vocabulary. I put the dialogues before the role plays so students can use the new vocabulary when preparing the role plays.There are four sections presenting more general subjects that can be used in the business world: Chapter 1: Introductions; Chapter 2: Meetings; Chapter 16: Emailing; and Chapter 17: Telephoning. There is a tense review at the end of the book to revise the most common tenses, as well as a list of the most-used irregular verbs.This book is ideal for use in a classroom with business students or adults who already work, but it can also be used for individual study. As the answers for all the vocabulary matching sections are in the back of the book, you can work on your own and self-correct as you go.
