These noble Houses are "ruled" by powerful matriarchs who seek to extend or increase the glory of their Houses through directed family "maneuvers."Protecting, preserving and elevating one's House is a critical priority for all family members. Even love may be sacrificed for the sake of one's House.

The main story characters, consisting mostly of strong female leads, also wage war. These wars though are very personal being wars of the heart and can be difficult and painful. Some find that love's war can also be a vital source of strength and happiness and may even endure for centuries...
