The ultimate goal of this text is to convey to my Christian brothers and sisters the information that our Christian ancestors would have considered to be our birthright. In the words of the ancient Christians: "When you know yourselves then you will be known and you will understand that you are children of the living Father, but if you do not know yourselves then you live in poverty and you are poverty." From The Gospel of Thomas The topics addressed in this text include: 1) How Black people developed the Crucified Savior concept; 2) How and why the Romans attacked our Black Christian ancestors; 3) Why were the Christians and Hebrews forced to hide their texts and what did those hidden books/texts reveal (for example The Dead Sea Scrolls, The Nag Hammadi Papers, and The Gospel of Mary); 4) Who were the Black priests/priestesses (ex. Arius and Hypatia) who challenged the Romans and who were those that allied themselves with the Romans; 5) How has history impacted our current practice of Christianity; and much more. Perry Khepera Kyles Ph.D is a specialist on African Diaspora History and Culture. Through his tours, publications, and lectures he has been able to introduce many people to the story of our most influential ancestors.
