Author Biography

Born into the religion of Islam in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Imam Luqman Ahmad is the son of Wadia Ahmad and Shaykh Abdul-Karim Muhammad Ahmad. His parents were one of the instrumental pioneers that contributed to the spread of Islam in the Philadelphia area. Imam Luqman Ahmad graduated from the language and usool ud-deen program at Omdurman Islamic University in Sudan and received his ijaazah in Hafs Quran recitation from the Quranic village of Wad al-Faadni in the Jazeerah Province of Sudan . He also studed at Umm al-Qura University in Mecca, Saudia Arabia. He has served as the Imam for the Masjid Ibrahim Islamic Center Ummah in Sacramento, California for over 15 years. Currently he serves as Imam and Executive Director of Masjid Ibrahim Islamic Center in Sacramento, California is a member of the National Shura, is a member of the Muslim Alliance of North America, is a member of the North American Imams Federation, a founding member and past president of the Council of Sacramento Valley Islamic Organizations (COSVIO) and Director of the Lotus Tree Institute. He currently resides with his family in Sacramento.
