He initially pursued scientific studies in Bordeaux before shifting his focus to animation, studying at the CNBDI in Angoulême. After serving as both student and tutor there, he transitioned to a full-time career in comics in the early 2000s. Reynès cites diverse influences, including Franco-Belgian comics, American comics, and manga, particularly the works of Katsuhiro Otomo. Beyond his comics work, he is a nature enthusiast, vegetarian, martial artist, and drummer.
