When widower Dave Ledford met the widow June Hotchkiss because of a plumbing problem in the store that June managed it was a very casual meeting. Dave couldn't get June off of his mind and found an excuse to go back to the store and see her again. June soon learned that Dave's hobby was panning for gold in the Northeast Georgia Mountains. She had always wanted to learn how to pan for gold and she asked Dave if he could teach her. Dave agreed to take her panning with him in Lumpkin County Georgia the following Sunday. Dave taught June how to pan for gold and June thought it was her turn to teach Dave something. When she was married, she was married to a sex therapist named Henry Hotchkiss and she sought to teach Dave everything that Henry had taught her.
