Author Biography

Shontel Howell is a communication major. She worked as a journalist for two newspapers prior to transitioning to a career in education. Her passion for teaching and learning has helped her to develop strategies and best practices that support learners of all ages. However, becoming a mother has been her greatest learning experience. Each day and stage of development that her children pass through provides a different challenge and often require a shift in mindset. "It's Time to Wash Your Hair, Twinkie" is a tale of the adventures of getting her daughter's hair washed. She understands her daughter's fear of water and developed a strategy that allows her daughter to feel comfortable with the process of getting her hair clean.
