He served in the National guard and joined in the Army and served during the Korean War. His military occupational specialty was entertainment specialist, serving on many stages as a master of ceremonies. He was a Singer and a Quartet and spent time as a Dance instructor. He worked at a Michigan Television station as a Broadcast announcer and weather man. He was a Disc Jockey in three states and after retirement moved to North Carolina to be near his Son and Two Granddaughters.
