The author currently resides in the vibrant city of Chicago with their wife, Kelly, and their two cats, Benny and Joon. After finishing their degrees in Anthropology and History from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, they won the Julia Boseman Student Leadership Award, which recognizes outstanding student leadership and contributions to education, social, and political activism for LGBTQ+ people, this book is their continuation of working towards contributing to the education of the public of LGBTQ+ issues.
