The director of the Library was called, and, and in hearing the request she asked me to wait and disappeared back into the inner sanctum of the building. When she came back, she was holding a only a frayed copy of a book with the insignia of a green cactus on blue ground and a yellow sky on the cover. The book you are about to read is based on that frayed copy. It is dedicated to the brave souls who fought with honor and determination through the challenging final stages of World War II and to those who gave their lives on the long road fighting the Nazi's from Marseilles to Innsbruck. djv murphy
