The Anasazi Indians were originally a nomadic people and lived as hunter-gatherers. When they discovered agriculture, they let go of the nomadic existence and settled in permanent places. Before Columbus came this civilization disappeared. Probably due to a combination of poor soil management, deforestation and overpopulation. We don't know much more than this.
