B is for Boss Lady was written, illustrated, and published by education marketing executives Courtney Davis and Leslie Hernandez who met while working at a large publishing house in New York City. While sharing an office they realized they also shared a passion for empowering young females. They began to work on this story as a side project in 2018 with the goal of creating a story that girls of all backgrounds could see themselves in and feel empowered by. They felt passionately about telling this story in the most authentic, genuine, and unfiltered way possible which is why they decided to write, illustrate, and publish this on their own.
