How to breastfeed with confidence, from the first latch to gentle weaning.

Breastfeeding may be natural, but for many new moms, it doesn't always feel simple. Whether you're a first-time mom preparing during pregnancy or already feeding your newborn, you may have questions about milk supply, latching, pumping, supplementing, or what to do when breastfeeding problems arise. From low milk production and nipple pain to breast refusal or trouble transitioning to solids, the early weeks of motherhood can feel overwhelming.

That's where Breastfeeding Made Simple, Second Edition comes in.

This practical, instructional guide for expectant and new mothers explains the seven natural laws of breastfeeding--clear, research-informed principles that help you understand how your body, hormones, and baby work together to establish healthy feeding rhythms. With compassionate advice and step-by-step education, this comprehensive resource takes the mystery out of breastfeeding so you can feel more confident at home, at work, or wherever motherhood takes you.

In this essential guide, you'll learn how to:

  • Establish and maintain healthy milk supply and production
  • Improve latch and latching techniques for more comfortable feeding
  • Overcome common breastfeeding problems, including low supply and mastitis
  • Use pumping and bottle feeding effectively when supplementing
  • Find the best breastfeeding positions for you and your baby
  • Transition smoothly to solid foods while continuing to breastfeed
  • Balance breastfeeding with work, maternity leave, and daily life

You'll also find helpful information about newborn feeding patterns, co-sleeping considerations, birth control and breastfeeding, pumping and storing milk, and how breastfeeding supports long-term child nutrition and development--for both baby boys and girls.

Whether you are expecting your first baby, navigating early motherhood, or searching for practical tools to solve breastfeeding trouble, this essential guide offers the support, knowledge, and reassurance you need.
