As soon as Bret arrives for a weekend away from the city, the boys set off on their adventure, fishing poles in hand. They go their separate ways at the creek, which is when Drew takes out the silver box that contains a treasure--a gift from his grandfather for Christmas. This gift is going to help him beat his cousin, once and for all.

With the help of his grandpa's present, Drew does get the attention of a huge fish, but will he be able to pull this monster in on his own? Will he be able to finally beat Bret in their fishing competition? Soon, Drew learns that his cousin's spirited fishing has less to do with fish and more to do with friendship and the support of family.
