After immigrating to Miami in the early 1980s, Belen began exploring a new faith: Judaism. In speaking with Jewish friends and colleagues, she connected with the faith in a way she hadn't with Catholicism. The holidays, rituals, and traditions of Judaism filled her with a sense of purpose, and she formally converted in 2004.

In addition to sharing her journey to Judaism, she explicitly describes the tenets of the faith and how her new spiritual home has given her a happier, more purposeful life.

Author Biography

Belen (Chaya) Loreto Grand converted to Judaism in 2004. She loves to host Shabbat dinners at her Jewish home. By spreading love, forgiveness, kindness, and compassion, she aspires to end the wars we fight within ourselves and among ourselves. She envisions a planet made up of nations waging peace with each other. Her goal is to establish centers for Judaic studies at universities in the Philippines where the 7 Noahide Laws will be disseminated in collaboration with CHABAD emissaries. She is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner.
