Author Biography

With antecedents that date to 1798, when the United States created a separate Department of the Navy, the U.S. Bureau of Naval Personnel was established in 1942. The bureau exercises oversight responsibility for the Naval Military Personnel Command, Navy Recruiting Command, and Naval Civilian Personnel Center. It administers all personnel matters for the U.S. Navy.
