Cartoonist Javier Hernandez began publishing comics through his imprint Los Comex in 1998. Among his titles are The Coma, Man-Swamp, Dead Dinosaurio and El Muerto. El Muerto was adapted as a live action film in 2007, for which Javier served as Associate Producer, Main Title designer and even appeared in a speaking cameo with star Wilmer Valderrama. The Los Comex Codex is his first trade paperback collection, reprinting 5 of his out-of-print comic titles. His work has also appeared in GHOULA Comix Vol 1 and New Adventures of the Human Fly Vol 1, among other titles. His character El Muerto appeared in a 5 part installment of the BALDO newspaper strip in 2008. In 2011, along with Ricardo Padilla, Javier co-founded the Latino Comics Expo.
