Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak has distinguished herself as one of the foremost scholars of contemporary literary and postcolonial theory and feminist thought. Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak is University Professor in the Humanities and Director of the Institute for Comparative Literature and Society at Columbia University. Her other books include In Other Worlds, The Post-Colonial Critic, and A Critique of Post-Colonial Reason.
