From the very first book of the Bible, God has spoken about why there is suffering in the world and how we are to view God in light of this suffering.

Job is the story of a righteous man who lost hope when he lost everything but his life. His three friends view him as a sinner and deserving of the suffering but Job sees himself as undeserving and self righteous. The four men lob arguments back and forth until a fifth man comes and defends God's point of view on suffering. God then appears and shows Job Who He is and what the answers are to his complaints.
