I want to make it clear that you can actually PAY YOURSELF what you would otherwise pay a building contractor to do for the same thing! Even if you've ever just been curious to know IF you could possibly BUILD YOUR OWN HOUSE . . . and you'd like to just look into doing it someday, this is a great resource to get started!

Author Biography

William Fricke is just an ": average guy" who learned how to subcontract his own home from his in-laws, who built every house they ever lived in themselves. He and his wife, Julia, and three kids, Jess, Matt and Jonathan became sometimes "unwilling" roofers, painters and whatever it took to get the job done. Many years in the retail industry put food on the table, but the passion to do as much as possible and know every "board and nail" that went into their home, and the desire to save as much money as possible in getting the best home possible, provided the much-needed drive to learn how to and then teach others how build a home.
