Ríona McGonagle was born in Galway and attended Colaiste lognaid before studying for her degree in modern languages in UCD. She has won a number of national and local youth competitions for creative writing and journalism in both English and Irish. After a year of acting in TG4's soap opera Ros na Run and involvement in student radio and newspapers, she began to write The Crystal Tower of Light, her first creative work for children.
Sharon O'Grady was born in Galway and attended Colaiste lognaid before studying for her degree in fine art in Cluain Mhuire Department of Art and Design.
