A bit of the story would take place, and after a few minutes Karloff would appear, giving a brief description of the story, followed by an introduction of the main actors. He concluded by saying "As sure as my name is Boris Karloff, this is a thriller " Karloff also appeared as an actor in five episodes over the duration of the series.
